Quick Subscribe and Unsubscribe

To subscribe or unsubscribe, send an email to: birdalert-request@ontbirds.ca with either
subscribe or unsubscribe in the subject header. You will have to confirm any changes you make by
replying to an acknowledging email. Please address your questions to the
coordinator and not to the whole list.
Please don't send subscription requests to birdalert@ontbirds.ca because they will get posted to the whole list.

Midway down the page, subscribe by entering your email address and a password. The password that you enter should be only for
ONTBIRDS.
When you fill out the subscription form, you will be given the option of receiving email from ONTBIRDS in digest format. Digest
formats generates a single daily post with all of ONTBIRDS messages bunched together in a single email rather than receiving them
as individual emails. You can always change your subscription options after you have subscribed.
Once you have filled out the subscription form, click the “Subscribe” button. ONTBIRDS will then send an email message
to your email address asking you to confirm your subscription request. You click on the link in the email to confirm your subscription.
After successfully subscribing to ONTBIRDS, you will receive a welcome message from ONTBIRDS. This message includes ONTBIRDS
Posting Guidelines. It will also include the URL that will direct you to your personal settings page as well as your ONTBIRDS
password. Keep the welcome message for future reference. You will need the information contained in it if you ever want to
modify your personal settings for ONTBIRDS or to unsubscribe.
By subscribing to ONTBIRDS and continuing to receive emails forwarded by ONTBIRDS you are agreeing to: 1) Abide by the
guidelines and 2) Take any precautions necessary to protect your computer from receiving or transmitting viruses.

At the bottom of this page below the Subscribing to ONTBIRDS section you will see a button labelled “Unsubscribe
or edit options”. Enter your email address in the box in front of this button and click the button. This will take you to
your “member options” page. To unsubscribe click on the “Unsubscribe” button. You will then receive an
email confirmation that you must reply to complete the Unsubscribe process.
Messages will stop immediately. Messages posted before you unsubscribe may still be received. You can use this when you are away
from home to stop your mailbox getting full and then resubscribe when you get back.

At the bottom of this page below the Subscribing to ONTBIRDS section you will see a button labelled “Unsubscribe
or edit options”. Enter your email address in the box in front of this button and click the button. This
will take you to your “member options” page.
Once you have successfully entered your password you are at a page titled: ONTBIRDS mailing list membership
configuration for xxxx (your email address)
There will you see options for your subscription. The two most relevant ones are whether you want receive your messages in daily
digest (all messages together in one big message or separately. The other option allows you to suspend mail delivery until you change
the option. You no longer have to unsubscribe to stop mail coming.
